Professionally upcycled large oak wardrobe with black & white ombre effect in the Lake District

French Black + White Ombre Armoire

For this elegant French Armoire, we took on our largest ever Ombre project. Using Lick paint to create a smooth blend from black to white around the entire piece. The paint has been sealed with a semi-matt varnish to protect and seal, the quarter swan oak veneer has been carefully fine sanded and oiled as has the inside of the piece.

On the interior of the wardrobe, we have used a fabric, custom printed for us by Avalana Designs. "Orient" is our favourite design and it made perfect sense to use it here. Creating a bold visual statement when the wardrobe is opened, the large 4 meter long mural, carries across the width of the wardrobe across all 4 doors. We also covered the 3 interior drawers in the same fabric.

One of these drawers we had custom made by our local woodworker and moved the clothing rail up to satisfy our client's storage needs.

As the piece was a large delivery and also needed assembling we offered this series to our client and it was great to see the final product in place!
