Walnut Sunflower Dresser

We love this piece and my aim was to update it without taking its original features away. 
Using a subtle colour to bring out the lines, fabrics to add interest and the original walnut veneer, oiled to show off its natural beauty.
 
I chose a lovely pale blue Valspar paint as it gives such a smooth finish, this against the vibrant mustard yellow sunflower fabric really stands out.
 
The Walnut veneer was just to good to paint over, so we fine sanded it then buffed it so the grain really stands out. I wanted to keep the original drop handles, every element of this piece compliments one another, I really love this dresser and put a lot of love into giving it a new look! I think it will grace any bedroom beautifully.
