The Tora Coffee Table explores the relationship between contrast and balance. Two distinct forms meet around a shared centre, bringing together richly figured walnut, flowing eucalyptus veneer and finely inlaid brushed nickel in a composition that feels both architectural and organic.
Rather than relying on ornament, the design allows each material to speak in its own voice. The result is a sculptural coffee table that quietly anchors the room, revealing new details as light moves across its surfaces.
At the heart of the piece sits a substantial cylindrical form crafted from richly figured burl walnut. Dense swirling grain wraps around the drum, creating a visual anchor from which the entire composition unfolds. It is both the physical and visual centre of gravity, bringing calm to the contrasting forms that surround it.
From this central form, the table divides into two distinct expressions. One volume is wrapped in straight-grain walnut, its disciplined linear figure introducing warmth and architectural clarity. Hidden within, a seamlessly integrated drawer provides discreet storage without interrupting the purity of the silhouette.
Opposite, figured eucalyptus offers an entirely different character. Its rippling grain creates movement beneath an intricate brushed nickel marquetry of intertwining vines. Rather than sitting proudly above the timber, the metal is precisely inlaid, allowing light to glide across the surface and subtly transform the pattern throughout the day.
Oversized at nearly 2 meters, this large designer coffee table is designed for expansive interiors.
