SHIPPING POLICY

At Patience & Gough, every piece is created with exceptional care, whether handcrafted furniture or finely produced textiles. As our collections are produced across different locations, shipping methods vary depending on the product. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.

1. Furniture Manufactured in Oman (Bespoke Pieces)

All bespoke and made-to-order furniture is:
   •    Handcrafted in Oman
   •    Professionally crated at our workshop
   •    Shipped directly from Oman to the customer

This approach ensures the highest standards of craftsmanship, protection, and quality control throughout transit.

2. Shipping Method & Timescales (Oman-Made Furniture)
   •    All bespoke furniture is shipped via air freight.
   •    Estimated delivery time is 1–2 weeks from dispatch, depending on destination and customs clearance.
   •    Dispatch will be confirmed once production is complete and the piece is fully crated.

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by customs procedures or circumstances beyond our control.

3. Shipping Costs, Import Duties & Taxes
   •    Shipping costs, import duties, customs clearance fees, and local taxes are not included in the furniture price unless explicitly stated.
   •    These costs are payable by the customer.
   •    A full shipping and import quote will be provided prior to dispatch, once crate dimensions, weight, and destination are confirmed.
   •    Shipping and import charges must be paid in full before shipment.

For UK customers, this may include:
   •    Import VAT
   •    Customs duties (where applicable)
   •    Carrier handling or clearance fees

4. Delivery Method & Access Requirements (Crated Furniture)

Standard delivery includes:
   •    Delivery of furniture in a protective wooden crate
   •    Delivery to the agreed address (kerbside or threshold delivery)

Important:
Standard delivery does not include moving the crate inside the property or unpacking the furniture.

Due to the size and weight of our pieces:
   •    A professional delivery team is required to move crated furniture indoors and unpack it safely.
   •    We can arrange this service on your behalf, but advance notice is required and additional charges will apply.
   •    Please notify us in advance of:
   •    Stairs, narrow access points, lifts, or restricted access
   •    Any time-specific delivery requirements

Failure to disclose access restrictions may result in additional costs or delivery delays.

5. Furniture Located in the UK (Showroom & Stock Pieces)

Where furniture is already located in the UK and sold from a showroom or stock holding:
   •    The item will be professionally crated
   •    Delivery will be arranged via a private delivery company

A white-glove delivery service (including placement and unpacking) is available upon request.
Please contact us for a tailored delivery quote prior to dispatch.

6. Fabric Orders

All Patience & Gough fabrics are:
   •    Designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom
   •    Carefully inspected prior to dispatch

Shipping details for fabrics:
   •    Fabric orders over 1 metre will be shipped on a roll to preserve quality and prevent creasing
   •    Smaller orders may be folded where appropriate
   •    Fabric shipping costs will be confirmed at checkout or quoted separately if required

7. Risk, Ownership & Insurance
   •    Responsibility for goods passes to the customer once delivery has been completed at the agreed address.
   •    We strongly recommend ensuring adequate insurance coverage for high-value items once delivered.

8. Inspection on Delivery

Upon delivery, please:
   •    Inspect crates or packages before signing
   •    Note any visible damage on the delivery documentation
   •    Notify us within 48 hours of delivery if there are any concerns, supported by photographs

This allows us to raise claims with carriers where applicable.

9. Delays & Force Majeure

Patience & Gough cannot be held responsible for delays caused by:
   •    Customs inspections or clearance delays
   •    Weather events, strikes, or global transport disruption
   •    Carrier or courier delays beyond our control

We will, however, keep you informed wherever possible.
