Gilbert is an Art Deco fabric derived from Walter Gilbert’s original 1933 sculptural frieze for Derry & Toms. Leaping deer and swallows move between stylised fountains, palms and decorative forms, translated from the original relief into a repeating textile in collaboration with Frank Holmes Fine Décor. The design is deliberately tonal, allowing the intricate artwork to read almost as texture from a distance, with the finer details revealing themselves on closer inspection.
In the Derry colourway, Gilbert takes on a soft, toasted buttery shade with a subtle brown depth. Earthy and understated, it brings quiet warmth to the Art Deco pattern and sits beautifully with oak, walnut, natural stone and layered neutral interiors.
Printed on our premium recycled velvet, this luxury upholstery fabric has a soft, dense pile and a rich tactile finish. With a Martindale rating of over 40,000 rubs, it suits both residential and commercial interiors, including curtains, headboards, cushions, sofas, and bespoke furniture.
