A marquetry wine cabinet in ash and walnut, referencing the language of historic trunks and reimagined as a sculptural object.
piked detailing wraps the sides, a subtle nod to medieval chests — softened through the warmth of smoked walnut and figured ash. The Kitsune marquetry sits within the front panel, integrated into the grain rather than applied to it.
A lockable door opens to reveal storage for 16 wine bottles, proportioned for standard wine formats. The height is set for natural access, whether positioned within a dining room, kitchen, or more intimate entertaining setting.
Each piece is commissioned individually, crafted by hand over 16 weeks using precision joinery and marquetry techniques refined through generations of expertise. Built with the same level of care once reserved for objects of significance, it carries a sense of permanence, something to be lived with, and eventually passed on.
It reads less as storage, more as an object of ritual.
