We designed the Panthera Totem Plant Stand as a sculptural marquetry pedestal intended to blur the boundary between functional object and collectible art. Balancing geometric form with visual illusion, the piece brings atmosphere, colour and architectural presence into a space.
 
Part of our wider Panthera collection, the stand translates our distinctive in-house pattern language into contemporary marquetry furniture. Veneered in figured sycamore with a soft opal-blue tone, the piece features hand-laid Madrona Burl marquetry flowing across both sections of the form. Botanical detailing and subtle animal motifs wrap around the faceted architectural surfaces, whilst the natural figuring of the veneers creates shifting depth and texture as light moves across the piece.
 
At its centre, a high-gloss sphere crafted from solid bamboo appears almost impossibly suspended between the upper and lower forms, creating a striking visual contrast against the softer tonal veneers.
 
Suitable as a luxury plant stand, sculptural pedestal or standalone interior object, the Totem functions as both furniture and statement piece within contemporary residential and hospitality interiors.
