Tora, meaning “tiger” in Japanese, is a bold tiger velvet fabric featuring leaping tigers intertwined with winding vines and stylised florals. The design unfolds with a natural rhythm, creating a composition that feels both energetic and controlled.

In the Savoy colourway, this designer velvet is defined by a soft, elegant blue, layered with cream and taupe tones, subtle grey undertones and a hint of violet. The palette feels calm and composed, allowing the movement of the pattern to emerge naturally while maintaining a sense of quiet balance. The result is a serene and sophisticated fabric, ideal for interiors that favour a more considered and calming aesthetic.

Printed on our premium recycled velvet, this luxury upholstery fabric is ideally suited to cushions, headboards, curtains and bespoke furniture. The plush pile enhances the pattern's depth, creating a rich, tactile finish whilst retaining exceptional clarity and definition. With a Martindale rating of over 40,000 rubs, it is suitable for both residential and commercial interiors, making it an ideal choice for interior designers, upholsterers and furniture makers seeking a durable, high-performance velvet upholstery fabric.

Yevheniia Vynokurova

Ukrainian artist Yevheniia Vynokurova talks about her inspiration and the meanings behind the tigers that caught the attention of design house Patience and Gough and sparked the collaboration.

Artist Yevheniia Vynokurova says of her designs, “I’ve come a very short way as an artist, but I feel the importance of my mission to create something incredible and beautiful because it makes me happy that people can smile when they look at my illustrations. The tiger is a symbol of energy, and strength, as well as a symbol of good luck and beauty. Inspired by Eastern mythology, I imagined the essence of these animals and by drawing the tigers I started a dialogue with myself, and with many others, for whom my tigers have become a talisman.”

As Yevheniia beautifully puts it, her tigers are more than illustrations – they’re talismans of courage and resilience. Through this collection, our fabric is given a layer of meaning far beyond the material.
